This residence, situated in the historic Nob Hill district of San Francisco, is home to a busy professional couple.

The clients are very sophisticated, and they had a very distinct brief: elegant and contemporary with touches of glamour.  The rooms all carry large volumes (the ceilings in the living room reach 23') and are concealed behind an elegant European facade.

Spaces are divide visually, with furniture layouts dividing the function of rooms into a more intimate setting.  I used luxurious silks, linens, velvets and weaves to cover walls, adding silk and wool to rugs, and beautiful velvets and linens on the furniture, upholstery and drapes - all with a deliberate lack of pattern.

The color pallet works creating a positive/negative alternative as your move through the home. Black and copper in the entry; dark moody cinnamon and amber in hallways on staircases, followed by more cinnamon and added amethyst in the dining room.  Finally, raw silk, chocolate and dove grey in the living room.

The color pallet formed the background for beautiful, polished ebony cabinets, polished nickel and crystal lighting fixtures, and bronze mirrored walls.

While being glamorous, this beautiful home is restrained, fulfilling my clients 'dream'.
