The living room, designed by Phillip Silver for the 2015 Showcase House, was inspired by the sophisticated 1960’s fashion house of Yves Saint Laurent.

A room not inspired by the mid-century style but a glamours room that reflects the new trends in New York, Paris and London.

The colors of YSL’s “rive gauche” label, hot pink and burnt orange” became the accents in an otherwise rich ivory and mocha room. Deliberately decadent, a mix of lush velvets and chenilles, dyed chagrin, antique and apricot mirror, crystal, wools and silks all came together to create a room highly charged with luxury.

The furniture, all custom designed by Phillip Silver, was mixed with Italian and French antiques and sat against a back drop of 20th century American art, vibrant and demanding.

This room was incredibly exciting to create.
